CINDERELLA'S SLIPPERS: THE FIRST "IT" SHOE

Before all the Manolos, the Jimmy Choos, the Louboutins there is one pair of shoes that has been the dream of every little girl (including the one writing this article): Cinderella’s glass slippers. What little girl wasn’t, at one point between the age of 4 and 10, the proud owner of a surprisingly cheap, incredibly uncomfortable and instantly breakable pair of “glass” slippers? They were the first “IT shoes” of our lives, the ones that shaped our idea of the perfect shoe – gorgeous yet terribly uncomfortable- and probably the reason of our weird and expensive shoe obsession.
Well, glass-slippers-owners-wannabes from all around the world get your credit cards ready because to celebrate the release of their new movie “Cinderella” (out on March 13), Disney Consumer Products asked nine designers to reinterpret the iconic shoe! Each of the nine designers - Paul Andrew, Alexandre Birman, Rene Caovilla, Jimmy Choo, Salvatore Ferragamo, Nicholas Kirkwood, Charlotte Olympia, Jerome C. Rousseau and Stuart Weitzman - had the possibility to create their own version of Cinderella’s slippers and what they came up with is simply enchanted.
After being presented at Milan’s luxury department Excelsior – where it’s going to be on sale until March the 3rd – the collection is going to travel all around the world: from  New York’s and Beverly Hills’ Saks Fifth Avenue to London Harrod’s , to Paris’ Galeries Lafayette, Moscow’s Tsum, Dubai’s The Dubai Mall and more!  The collection is also going to be available at some of the designer’s stores!
